Coding Club - teaching young people how to code and improve their skills!

October 21st, 2019

Clickworks Coding Club is aimed at the next generation of digital masters who are keen to learn about coding and give it a go!

Delivered in partnership with local software developer Rapid ERP, the fortnightly club will give students from local secondary schools an opportunity to explore their interest in coding. They will learn to program, develop websites, apps and games, build things with code and electronics, and much more.

Attendees will meet like-minded young people and gain confidence, new friends, and valuable skills for the future. We’re aiming to make learning to code a fun, sociable, and creative experience and open up new avenues for young people who might not otherwise have such learning opportunities!

Coding Club is an effective and enjoyable way to engage young people with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. Most importantly, Coding Club is fun and exciting, allowing young people to explore STEM subjects in innovative and inventive ways.

Coding Club is open to complete beginners as well as to young people who have coded before.

Children under 13 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian, who is required to remain on the premises for the duration of the session. Parents can help to get set up and ready but don’t need to be involved in the session (although they are welcome to help) as our volunteer mentors will assist all children.

Designed for students of secondary school age, coding club runs fortnightly on a Thursday evening between 4.30 and 6pm at Clickworks. Attendance is free of charge; however, registration is necessary in order to guarantee a place. To register visit our Dojo web page and click the ‘Join’ button.
