First 200 people!
In December, Clickworks – the Chamber’s new hub for all things digital in St Helens – reached its first 200 people milestone, with customers benefiting from digital skills training, careers guidance, use of the hi-tech facilities and networking events.
Clickworks, which was officially opened by Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram in October, provides free digital training to both employed and unemployed people, and aims to increase digital skills levels in the Borough.
In its first three months of opening Clickworks has hosted 18 courses for people looking for work, 15 courses for employed people learning new skills in IT and digital marketing and a popular business networking event.

Clickworks has been the result of a lot of hard work
Kath Boullen, Chief Executive at St Helens Chamber, commented: “Opening Clickworks has been the result of a lot of hard work and has been a significant financial investment for the Borough so I am delighted to see it already having such a positive impact.
“Over the next few years we are aiming to offer digital training to a further 2000 local people and we hope many of these will go on to progress in their careers or secure employment as a result of their improved skills, so this is a really encouraging start to meeting this challenge.
“Clickworks has been developed to improve the digital capabilities of local businesses and people, sustain a new digital future and create a digital landscape in St Helens.
“St Helens Chamber has always been at the forefront of delivering skills and services to help local people succeed.”
Having digital knowledge is now seen as a fundamental skill in the workplace.
The development of Clickworks was possible thanks to funding secured from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Skills Capital Fund and free training is funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
